DELTA Y STRAINERS are effective in the mechanical removal of unwanted solid contaminants from liquid, gas, or steam lines by means of a perforated or wire mesh-based straining element. Delta Y Strainers are used in pipelines to protect equipment like meters, pumps, regulators, control valves, and other process equipment, Y-Strainers are generally used in applications where solid content is small & thus frequent cleaning is not required. The advantage offered by Delta Y Strainers is that due to the compact construction, they can be employed where there are space constraints and where a sturdy strainer is required. Delta Y-strainers can be installed in either a horizontal or vertical orientation. The Y Strainers are fitted with SS304 based element consisting of cylindrical wire mesh welded onto a perforated plate. Delta Y Strainers are widely used in Refineries, Power Plants, and Industries in India and many parts of the world.

DELTA Y strainers are low-cost equipment for the mechanical removal of contaminants and solids from liquid, gas, or steam lines. This is carried out by means of a perforated plate or wire mesh straining element. Y Strainers are convenient to install in Pipelines to protect pumps, meters, control valves, and other expensive equipment. Y Type Strainers are effective for the removal of foreign particles in a cost-effective manner from pipelines. Y-Strainers are normally installed when the number of solids to be removed is small. These Strainers are installed in line with the Pipeline and in situations where frequent clean-out is not required. Y Type strainers can be installed in either a horizontal or vertical position. The Strainer element is typically manufactured in SS304 material. Y Strainers provide excellent protection for downstream equipment like boilers, pumps, valves, and other related equipment. Typically DELTA Y Strainer is constructed of carbon or stainless steel material. Optional materials, end connections, and accessories are available.
1. Line size: 2” – 40”
2. End Connections: Flanged 150 LB through 600 LB
3. Body MOC: Carbon Steel (A106 Gr. B), Stainless Steel 304/316/316L
4. Basket MOC: SS304/316/316L
5. Mesh Rating: 7 Mesh to 1250 Mesh
Y Strainer Ratings are typically rated in U.S. Mesh instead of a micron. Mesh ratings stand for the number of openings per linear inch using standard wire diameters. Wire mesh measures the number of wires (or threads) per linear inch, not the size of the holes between them. The micron rating goes down as the number of wires per inch goes up.
We have tabulated the rough relationship between U.S. Mesh and microns. For an accurate relationship, the wire diameter should also be accounted for in the calculations.
