Compressed Air Moisture Separators, Filters, and Receiver Tanks tend to accumulate water over hours of operation. It is imperative to discharge this water out of the air system. This can be done manually, however manual draining requires human intervention. The automatic draining option is always preferred to drain out the accumulated moisture. Auto Drains can be mechanically operated or electrically operated. Mechanically operated auto drain valves use a float system. When there is no water present, the float is lowered and seals the opening hence preventing air loss. As the plant is under operation, and water accumulates in the auto drain valve body, the float lifts up due to buoyancy and opens the aperture. The accumulated water is discharged out.
