DELTA Basket Strainers are used to trap solid contaminants from liquid streams.
They use mesh-type baskets fitted in an external strainer housing, hence the name Basket Strainer.
The advantage offered by Basket Strainers is that they provide a much higher filtration area as compared to Y-type Strainers and Tee-type Strainers.
Basket Strainers are installed upstream of Pumps, Valves, and other process equipment.
This helps protect the expensive equipment from damage and downtime.
DELTA Basket Strainers offer a range of external housing MOC and Basket MOC.
Housing MOC: SA 516 Gr. 70 / SA 106 Gr. B / SS 304 / SS316 (L)
Strainer Basket MOC: SS 304 / SS316 / SS316L
We offer Basket Strainers from line size 2" NB to 12" NB
Flanged Ends from 150 Class to 900 Class (for higher operating pressure)
Mesh Rating from 10 Mesh to 400 Mesh.
Strainer Ratings are typically rated in U.S. Mesh instead of a micron. Mesh ratings stand for the number of openings per linear inch using standard wire diameters. Wire mesh measures the number of wires (or threads) per linear inch, not the size of the holes between them. The micron rating goes down as the number of wires per inch goes up.
We have tabulated the rough relationship between U.S. Mesh and microns. For an accurate relationship, the wire diameter should also be accounted for in the calculations.
